Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in providing protection systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes overnight. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes succeed nights of air raids in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
